Are You Never Hurt By Criticism? Well, Something’s Wrong! Danielle LaPorte Explains.
Did you know your ego is a good thing? It’s just one of the many thoughtful insights you’ll learn in today’s sneak peek inside Danielle LaPorte’s powerful Mentor Masterclass training.
Last year I was so proud to announce Danielle had joined our panel of celebrity coaches and would be working with women inside my signature life coach training program Mentor Masterclass. And today, I’m sharing part of her training with you, for free!
Danielle is member of Oprah’s SuperSoul 100, a group who, in Oprah Winfrey’s words, “is uniquely connecting the world together with a spiritual energy that matters.”
She is author of White Hot Truth: Clarity for Keeping It Real on Your Spiritual Path—From One Seeker to Another, The Fire Starter Sessions, and The Desire Map: A Guide To Creating Goals With Soul—the book that has been translated into eight languages, evolved into a yearly day planner system, a top 10 iTunes app, and an international workshop program with licensed facilitators in 15 countries.
Danielle is also a mentor inside the Holiday Challenge.
Are you on the guest list? You can learn more about it and sign up here to join us! It’s free!
You’re going to love Danielle’s wisdom and insight around some of the toughest issues any new coach must work through.
Named one of the “Top 100 Websites for Women” by Forbes, millions of visitors go to her site every month for her daily #Truthbombs and what’s been called “the best place online for kickass spirituality.”
Danielle is also creator of The Desire Map yearly day planner system that has CHANGED MY LIFE. (In fact you can order The Desire Map Planner here right now for yourself on sale – it makes an incredibly thoughtful and unique gift!).
Inside the full-length Mentor Masterclass program, Danielle teaches coaches how to embody what it means to “be” their brand and their own guru. This helps coaches (and coaches in training!) fully embrace who they are so they can start living the essence of their own brand identity, and serve their clients with authenticity as a result.
My conversation with Danielle today is pulled straight from inside Mentor Masterclass, at a point when many of the women in the program struggle with their own conflicting patterns and beliefs around what they know to be true, and what’s just not working for them in their coaching practices.
New coaches are often faced with that feeling of, “I don’t know what I don’t know.”
As we work through these stages of launching a life coach business, plenty of questions come up for the women in the program, including:
What’s guiding my decisions – is it my ego or my soul?
Am I being too masculine or too feminine in my approach?
What does feminine leadership really look like, and how can I integrate it into coaching practice and my life?
Should I focus more on my family or more or my business right now?
I have my own way of supporting women and coaching the women inside Mentor Masterclass. I’ve learned that you need to hear options from a diverse and aligned panel of thought leaders in order to discover the business model that is truly aligned with your unique essence. This is what separates Mentor Masterclass from every other life coach training program.
I shared these questions above with Danielle during her Mentor Masterclass training (as I do with every other mentor you’ll work with inside the program) and her thoughtful responses were full of her signature #truthbombs. I’m excited for you to watch!
Danielle teaches that your ego is a wonderful thing – we have to have an ego because we have to have personalities and most of us have a business persona (a version of our own personalities that comes out when we work with clients).
Your persona is very much connected to who you are. The problem comes when your persona has nothing to do with your truth. Your persona should be an amplification of your truth and for that to happen, you’ll need to call in your ego.
Your ego becomes a negative force when you’re preventing yourself from changing, feeling things, or being hurt. If you’re not careful, you can fall into the trap of receiving negative feedback and preventing yourself from being hurt by it.
And if you’re not being hurt by criticism, something is very wrong. (Danielle explains this as only she can.)
When it comes to the masculine vs. feminine aspects of your business and your life, Danielle assures us that, eventually, the struggle between masculine and feminine won’t come up anymore, because you won’t care whether something you’re doing is masculine or feminine.
The struggle will be over because you’ll say to yourself, this is where my heart is.
The feminine is inclusive and nurturing. The masculine is directive and assertive. Who doesn’t want to be both of those things? Embrace them and integrate them into your business and who you are.
