7 Days of Soulful Practices to Help You Become A Successful Life Coach:

Going Through a Tough Time? This Single Sentence Can Reframe Everything.

November 1st, 2016 | 1 comment

When I was in 6th grade my parents couldn’t afford to send me to camp. I remember listening to all my girlfriends celebrate their new hot pink Barbie sleeping bag while planning for their first solo adventure.

I was able to convince my principal to give me a scholarship to go!

Yay!

But my bag was packed with hand-me-downs and any supplies we could gather from family and friends. Which was a massive oversized flashlight and an orange sleeping bag with stains all over it and a tear down the outside.

In some ways this is how I felt when I first started my coaching business.

I followed women who had amazing websites. These were sought-after coaches who were interconnected and collaborating with other feminine leaders who seemed to have it all.

While I had bought a $35 template on WordPress and created my own site while doing it all alone.

Today’s sneak peek inside my all-in premium life coach training course, Mentor Masterclass, is part of an interview that really made me stop and think about how things have changed in my perspective and where I am today in life and business.

It’s all about THE key question you can ask yourself when times get tough. It instantly reframes what you’re going through so you feel empowered.

(Press PLAY on the video below to jump ahead and learn what it is!)

Today’s celebrity guest mentor sneak peak features the best-selling author of Money: A Love Story, Untangle Your Financial Woes and Create the Life You Really Want.  Her work has been featured by The Today Show, Yahoo! Finance, Women’s Health, Glamour, and The Huffington Post and she’s spoken to audiences of thousands with Hay House, Wanderlust, USANA Health Sciences, and more.

Her name is Kate Northrup and she’s someone I secretly hoped would become a close friend someday. I admire her approachability and her fierce message in the world. She says you’ve been told you can have it all. But the truth is, you don’t want it all. You want what you want. You want to be inspired, in love, healthy, happy, and abundant. You want the ultimate luxury: choice. You have to be energetically full in order to have something wholesome to give to your clients. That makes so much sense, doesn’t it?

Kate’s powerful message in her work is that you don’t have to pick money or love.

The two can work together to help you create a life that really does it for you, on every level. Her life is proof!

I’m excited to share that Kate and I have created a friendship after meeting at a retreat center in Costa Rica (we were both about 4 months pregnant). I was speaking at a retreat and Kate was getting her Qoya certification.

At this point in my life I had spent a lot of time and received support shifting my perspective from comparison to valuing connection and collaboration. I had learned to self-nurture, value my work and see myself as worthy and whole. This is the only reason I could build a genuine friendship with Kate that would naturally evolve into a business collaboration.

I chose a very powerful sneak peek of our full-length training video from my all-in life coach training Mentor Masterclass.

There was a moment in Kate’s interview where I discovered the same perspective shift I chose that allowed me to build a relationship with Kate, was the tool she wanted to teach my coaches in training.  I can’t wait to share it with you in today’s video!

In today’s video, Kate teaches us:

  • How many people have “outsides” that don’t always match their “insides” – even when it comes to leaders in the personal development industry. (0:07)

  • Why you shouldn’t even try to be perfect, because there’s a powerful alternative that’s actually possible. (0:29)

  • The one question to ask yourself when you’re struggling. It’s the perfect antidote to our tendency to say, “Why is this happening to me?” It’s the mindset Kate uses for everything! (0:59)

  • The meaning of a “spiritual bypass” and why you want to avoid it.(1:36)

  • Why you may never heal your deepest issues – and why that can be so empowering. (1:56)

  • And more.

When you watch today’s episode, you’ll see me start taking notes on the spot, right in the middle of the interview. I just couldn’t help myself!

Now I’d love to hear from you in the comments: what part of Kate’s message resonated with you today? Share your takeaways! I read every one of your comment.

All my love,

  1. I loved the upward spiral! So many times, concepts that I’ve struggled with just click for me and I get that feeling that I knew it all along, but I must not have been ready to REALLY know it. The idea of revisiting concepts from a higher consciousness explains that for me.

Those moments (days or even years) when you can’t find the nugget are just torture! Knowing that there is a purpose and trusting that it will be revealed is hard sometimes. It would be great to know what exercises you can do to reveal that lesson so you can do the work of learning it.

Thanks Jey & Kate! Looking forward to learning more 🙂
