7 Days of Soulful Practices to Help You Become A Successful Life Coach:

Choose Your Own Theme Word for The New Year (And Beyond!)

January 3rd, 2017 | 3 comments

Everywhere you look right now, people are creating their goals and to-do lists for 2017. There’s that expansive feeling of possibility in the air—like we all get a chance to start over or build on an area of our lives in a huge way.

Everyone’s telling themselves,”This year will be THE year.”

But how many years have you started on your goals and to-do’s, then slowly started forgetting them? Then by the end of the year, they’ve completely fallen by the wayside and you haven’t learned what you wanted or experienced that great transformation you’d hoped for? You end the year feeling disappointed and depleted. Soon it’s time to make your goals for the next year, and the cycle starts again….

Sister, if you’re nodding your head right now, you’re not alone! For many years I did this, too.

If you think about it, the word “solution” means “to solve a problem,” and the prefix “re” means “again.” So, making a New Year resolution just means “solving problems again!”

So why do we all devote ourselves to solving the same problems, time after time?

If you’re anything like I was, half of the goals on your list are probably the same goals you had last year. And here’s the truth: if you didn’t reach these goals before, you’re probably not going to this year. But you don’t have to feel discouraged— I’m excited to create space for a NEW way of doing things!

This is where the power of themes comes in. Now that I have the power of themes in my life, I approach true transformation in one area of my life that will solve the problems I’m experiencing once and for all, in a way that’s easy to follow through on and remember.

Choosing a theme means choosing one word that becomes your mantra and guiding inspiration.

You decide how you want to feel and who you want to be, instead of what you think you should do. When I discovered the power of themes, it changed my life.

(Want my real-time support as you choose YOUR theme for the year? Join our sisterhood call and sign up here.)

Here are the themes I’ve chosen over the past few years:
2013: Community
2014: Generosity
2015: Beauty
2016: Wholeness

I chose community because I felt lonely. I wanted to learn how to run my own business by feeling supported, rather than overwhelmed and lacking resources. My theme lead me to join a business mastermind where I became surrounded and supported by sisterhood, life changing resources and mentors that had my back.

I chose generosity because I felt like I was tight with my money and my time. This theme helped me become a woman who had more than enough money to give of freely and balance my time between my business and the people I love.

I chose beauty because I wanted to have a better relationship with my body and to be more present in life so I could witness the miracles around me.

I chose wholeness because I was going through a major identity change becoming a mother and I wanted all parts of myself (mother, wife, CEO, artist, leader, sex goddess) to be integrated in my life experience.

Come discover the theme that’s calling out to YOU for 2017 on our live sisterhood call all about themes on January 5th at 7pm EST. I’m going reveal how the theme word “wholeness” has affected me and how it all turned out. Plus I’ll reveal what my 2017 theme is going to be. Most importantly I’ll help YOU figure out what your theme is meant to be for this year.

We’ll find your personal theme by doing a guided meditation that will blow your mind and open your heart!

One of my favorite things about themes is that they don’t end when the year is over! When you work with one theme for a full year, it becomes a part of who you are.

I’m still a woman surrounded by a powerful community. After working with generosity for a year it is deeply rooted in my daily life and financial outlook. And wholeness… well, I’ll tell you all the details on our live call on January 5th, but for now let’s just say it has affected me deeply and changed me for the better—for good!

I want to help you come up with the theme that is divinely meant for you this year.

Your theme should come from a deep sense of who you are. It should light you up inside and inspire you to take action!

This one word creates super simple focus. It dictates every action and every goal you align yourself with this year. It helps you to show up for work, relationships, diet choices, lifestyle, and how you spend your free time.

As your theme gradually becomes part of who you are, it helps you answer questions as they arise in your daily life. Questions like:

What am I doing?
What do I do next?
How do I respond to this?

You’ll find that when something tough comes up in your life, you’ll be able to easily move it aside if it doesn’t fit in with your theme and your life. You’ll feel empowered to relinquish disappointment and not feel guilty, because you’ll know you’re aligned with this important part of your life.

On our live sisterhood call, I’m going to guide you through a meditation to find your theme word right there on the spot. I’ll show you a simple way to come into connection with that voice and your word. I’ll help you answer the question, “Am I living in accordance with this theme, practice, devotions, and embodiment?”

Sister, I’m really looking forward to sharing this with you, and being present as you connect with your 2017 essence on our live call on January 5th. Let’s feel into the womb space of renewal, newness and creation for 2017 together. It’s time to make this year different!

Now I’d love to reflect with you:

If you were on the live call last year, what theme did you choose for 2016, and how did it transform things for you? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Hi Jey! This is such an inspiring topic! I won’t be able to make the call on Thursday but already picked up some great ideas from this post. More than to decide on a theme, I would need some help and tips on how to keep living by this theme for the whole year! My theme for 2016 was ‘plan’ because I felt that I was being very passive rather than proactive with my life and not planning for what I wanted to happen. It was very useful for the first few months and then I lost sight of it really!

  2. Dear Jey,
the live call would be in the middle of the night for me , but the word already popped up.

its LIGHTNESS . Light and Easy and filled with good Light to the brim. Loose some weight. Physically and emotionally.
